Happy Birthday buddy, sorry to be a bore, my vote is for the tripod too, it will improve your photography beyond measure.

Both in terms of steadiness (is there such a word?), also it will slow you down and hence composition improves (time to see the pole sticking out of the head).

I didnt want to taint the suggestions with my own list... but the FA35/2 was at the top.

I love these suggestions though... now the list looks like:

FA 35/2
DA40/2.8 limited (that limited moniker is whats keeping this on the list)
190X w/484rc2
SW... hmm hadnt thought of that... or the color calibration kit.

Hmmm.... Hmmmm..... Hmmm...

This will take some more thought... THANKS Everyone!
