Anyone use an iPad as a larger Liveview for Focusing?

My wife just got a new iPad and I have the old one. Has anyone used one with K-1 or K-3 to serve as large view for stills or video?

I use an iPad to review my shots when traveling. I use a Toshiba air wifi SD card in camera (K3-ii) and send the pictures per wifi.

Does it do HDMI out, or do you have to rely on WiFi and an app to see LiveView?

HDMI out is good for basic viewing/reviewing focus, and is low-tech and reliable.

While an iPad offers a nice large display, the biggest practical LiveView device display would probably be a set of DJI Goggles - they take HDMI input, and offer a display equivalent to a 216″ TV screen placed less than 10 feet away.

Wearing a set of DJI Goggles in public? I don't think so.

Not used K1 but have played with Pentax Flucard to Control camera using iPad and Android phone. Heard bad reports about it but I thought acceptable.

Have you looked at iPad to HDMI cables ?- Amazon send back if not fit for purpose

You can download the Pentax app, "Image Sync", should work with your K1. I have used it for posing self portraits on tripod

I can use my big ol' iPad Pro with the Pentax app and my K-1ii via wifi. Not as sharp as the built-in iPad camera, but quite good, and reasonably responsive. When doing say close shots it's nice because you can just touch a place on the iPad or iPhone and the camera will AF to that spot. And you have some other controls as well. And of course remote shutter.

But one big caveat is that it take FOR EVER to transfer a big raw. The wifi is pretty slow. Probably easier and faster to pop out the SD card and stick that into Apple's SD card dongle, which is USB 3 I think.
