A drone is on my list of 'wants'.

Less regulations sending your camera up a kite though. Might be fun with a sacrificial older model theta.

There's a 40ft tripod that keeps popping up on my local kijiji, it folds to a convenient 6ft length and only weighs 34lbs. Not as high as a drone, but almost as cool? I can't find the model, but if it gives anyone ideas, here's a review of a 28 footer with a dandy motorized head.

In the next photo it looks like he's aiming the camera into a second story window.

Drone users are viewed with suspicion. As long as you aren't right next to buildings giant tripod users will probably be viewed with amusement or confusion.

Looks lighter and easier to use than my Type 1A Little Giant Ladder System--which I have used as a camera platform.
