I LOVE this photo. What a great shot!
I enjoyed your first post so much. I can relate to everything you said and it is all true! Too funny and you nailed everything right on the head. I'd say you are a seasoned bird photographer by the sounds of it. I wish you many more heart thumping encounters with wildlife and your camera.

The Eagle and the Ospre are beginning to become more plentyful around here also. By mid winter they will be setting 10-15 at a time in the big cottonwoods along the river, (Mississippi). I live just 6 blocks from the Miss. so in evening it is nothing unusual to see lots of them flying overhead Will be my first time shooting with K10 and BIG-MA. Shot last year with K100 and slow Phonex 100/400 4.5-6.7 Got some half decent shots. Hope to do better this year.

Thank you LaRee:-)
Thanks Ben!
Great video Michael, thank you for the link.
jmc7104, I look forward to your Bigma photos.
Thanksgiving morning dawned with grey skys, I like going out early, the eagles were busy fishing and I got this guy enjoying his Thanksgiving breakfast (i guess it's a guy, I'm not sure how to tell the difference yet).

There are at least 2 (known) pairs of nesting eagles near here and probably more as well as a lot of red tail hawks and some ospreys also. I spent much of this past summer trying to get a good shot and the closest are a couple of sillouettes from so far off its hard to tell what it is. On 2 occasions however, when I was doing routine errands and didn't have my camera, there they were just a few yards away. Thats the way my luck has been.

In my limited experience, it's almost always the eagles who decide whether or not to let you take their pictures. Nice work and a good story, Eaglerapids!
