Better ones

This is what I got with my Tamron 70 - 300 DI LD and K100. I hope is OK. Clouds came in and screw up my test.

OK, since everyone else is posting their cool moon-jupiter-venus shots, I guess I will get into the action. Here's mine...with a twist (neighbors lighted pine trees) taken in southeast Minnesota, USA about 6:00pm today......

Some nice shots. It clouded over enough I never saw it so the camera stayed in the truck. Maybe next time.

That is one beautiful shot. For those who are into celestial stuff I have found this site really good for naked eye stargazing (and photography as well)

Thanks! I had completely wrote off the event as it's been cloudy and snowing for several days, including most of yesterday as well. Well, I came upstairs after dark and looked out our deck and that's the view I saw....clouds were gone and the sky was a beautiful blue with these three celestial objects the only things in the sky....couldn't grab my camera fast enough! I was literally sprinting around the house trying to grab a couple different lenses which had been scattered around the past few days.

Great celestial site! I will be checking that out!

Yeah I've seen Jack on tv the last few years. (PBS) He's well respected in the field and is out of Miami. (Is that still part of the US?) I just like the way he presents stuff in his little 3-5 minute spot.
My problem lately is since I work in graphic arts I usually don't carry my camera if I am not working. So needless to say I miss too many shots lately. Last week I had the Florida version of that shot but alas no camera.

Note to self: Grab a camera! Any Camera!

For Damn Brit:

I had no idea this celestial event was going to happen but had my camera on me (as usual) when my friend Ed noticed the odd conjunction in the sky. I took this shot and said "too blurry -- need a tripod". Then Ed pointed out that the moon itself was just as blurry!

So this is what it looked like from Ireland at 18:44.

When I first spotted this, the moon was much closer to the planets, by the time I got home, this was the scene:

From the mostly clear skies of Phoenix, Arizona. I saw it on Sat. nite while taking out the garbage. I didn't know what is was but I thought it was unusual since the smaller lights were not twinkling like stars. It was taken with the K20 and Pentax 18-250 lens on a tripod using remote control.
