Amen to that. I have always noticed that somehow the world keeps on turning and the birds keep on singing when I miss a shot, so I have decided it can't be such a horrible thing after all.

Flash versus fast Lense

I 100% agree that there is definatly a place for both and also in some cases both, but this one really is astonishing. This guy shows up with this set-up and (the flash is bigger than the camera) is photographing eagles in flight in middle of river. Slight haze.

Yabbut he's going to use it to bounce off of clouds and you have to admit that's pretty darned clever of him.

He's shooting Canon though...he must be a pro.

Actually it is laser, not flash. It is part of the Canon "Eagle Stabilization" system. The laser stuns the eagle, who then momentarily stops muscle movement. The camera then snaps away at 51fps while the eagle plummets to its death.

Works great, but some aren't very happy about the system...
