thanks crewl1 and steve1307 that's it. And it is indeed a chick flick. You know those kinds of movies where they snap a photograph and then years and years later someone sees it and a great nostalgia and longing commences and this is that kind of movie haha.. But I was really surprised to find digital bodies (a 645D used for funeral portraits of old people.) and lenses that carry the pentax brand in a movie... on a side note I wouldn't want to see a lens crack or a body crushed in car chases though that would hurt me. So glad to have found them in a not action packed film. Cheers to all.

Pentax appear in the Swedish comedy ”sällskapsresan” from 1980 with Lasse Åberg and Jon Skolmen, famoused Swedish and Norwegian comedians. The movie makes fun of everything related to charter trips and the industry around it. As they arrive to the hotel and unpack the technique friendly Skolmen has both a polariod camera and a small system camera with winder, flash and extra lenses...of course it is a Pentax 110!

Lasse has only his mothers old Kodak Brownie...

*Cross posted from another thread and dated last year. I have only just discovered this thread today.*

Watching late night TV last night, switched over to an old Paul Newman movie called WUSA. Co-Star Anthony Perkins was featured wandering around the slums of New Orleans taking pictures with what looked like a Spotmatic and a Zebra Stripe short to mid Telephoto lens.

At least Pentax was getting product placement spots in 1970.

Just yesterday, I'm pretty certain I spotted a silver and black Pentax, like a K1000, in the 1999 movie Arlington Road, about 28 minutes before the end of the movie. The protagonist, played by Jeff Bridges, is being spied on by the bad guys.

It was not a very good movie, otherwise.

Hey, I spotted a recent model Pentax dSLR in use by someone behind an on-scene CNN news anchor yesterday. The black body and white logo almost jumped off the screen. However, the view wasn't long enough to identify which body or lens. No grip. If I had to guess, I would say K-x, K-r, K-7 or K-5. The front of the viewfinder housing looked too flat to be a K-30, but who knows?

Not to mention his first wife, Linda was a photojournalist...she seemed to prefer Nikon.
Actually, she used a Pentax LX.

Back in 1972, the original TV movie of The Night Stalker starring Darren McGavin had him using a Spotmatic.
(I mentioned this in post 14 too, but I didn't have screen shots).

From the original TV series "The Avengers", season 6 episode 3 (1968) "Super Secret Cypher Snatch" starring Patrick McNee and Tara King. It seems the bad guys like Spotmatics too.

It is an LX. That's the same movie with Rosie O'Donnell in a BDSM outfit...when she was slimmer.
