Some more screen caps

You can see all 3 cameras in this shot, though the Pentax is slung over his shoulder and partially obscured

You can almost make out "Asahi PENTAX". The self-timer under the rewind knob would seem to identify this as a SV (H3v).

Anyone want to guess what lens and f-stop?

You can clearly make out "Nikon" here.

My impression is that the Pentax gets less screen time than either of the Nikons individually. It might seem unusual to have competing products on screen but as I recall this was still an era without complicated legal maneuvering have products on-screen. Indeed the product makers would often write the studios a check as a thank-you for the free advertising.

Sure you're not thinking of "Ice Station Zebra"? Similar themes: Cold War, submarine, Arctic setting, etc. There was a "double agent" in the story.

Note: Unless anyone objects I'm going to merge this thread into the "Pentax in The Movies" thread.

When this film was made the audience was not camera brand-conscious.
Pentax, Nikon, Leica or what have you, it was all the same.
They knew only that this style of camera was for professionals.

Most viewers were probably using a Kodak camera - if they owned a camera at all.
35mm SLR cameras didn't become a consumer item until the second half of the 1970's.

A CW channel show Riverdale.
In various episodes, but noticed the KM in season 3, Episode 3, one of the girls was using the KM in a couple scenes.

I watch this with my teenager.

The movie "Polaroid", released this year, prominently features an ME Super (with M 50/1.4 ?!) in at least two scenes in the first 15 minutes

It's in the trailer too.

"Salmon Fishing in the Yemen" (2011) has a Pentax LX (silver) at 1:27:12.
