Copyright Symbol.

How do you go about getting that ('c' in the middle of a circle) copyright symbol?

NLAlston, the key combination is Alt-0169, but you need to do the numbers on the numeric keypad.

The quickest way is to install a character map and copy and paste from it.
Windows has it as an add-on in add/remove programs > add/remove windows components > Accessories (details - character map).

If you have it installed already you'll find the character map in Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools.

Windows Alt Key Codes

An additional link. Hope this helps.

Thanks alvin.

I'll give that a shot as soon as I get back home, and get on our 'Windows' based computer. I am on a Mac, right now, and don't know my way (at all) around it :>)

Copyright symbol

Your question is a bit vague, do you want the symbol in a photo or in text? If the latter and you have Windows you can click on:

Start > Programs > Accessories > System > Character Map

This brings up an array of characters in the selected font. Click on the desired symbol and it appears in the Characters to Copy field. You then copy and paste it into your text:

There are quicker ways, when I married Eleanor Andjar I soon figured out ALT 163 creates the accented as fast as I can type with most applications, including this forum.

On your Mac, in any Cocao application, go to Edit > Special Characters. The copyright symbol is found under Symbols, in Letterlike Symbols. If you can't find that, there is a search bar at the bottom of the window and type copyright into it, it will come up.

If in any non-cocoa app (ie. Photoshop) you must activate the pallette from the Finder. The window will "float" over any app and you can press the "Insert" button to insert the symbol.

Alternatively, you can go to System Preferences > Internation > Input Menu and activate the Unicode Input Method to use the Alt codes. You have to press the Option key on your Mac as the "Alt" key.
