The two last photos are flash photos. The flash only reaches so far and trees in the background therefore are undereposed. So their colors gravitate towards black, as explained by Lowell above.

The palm tree leaves are overexposed in the first photo. I suspect that one or more of the color chanels we overexposed beyond what the sensor can handle and the color therefore washes out. I remember getting a similar effect when by accident overexposing slide film.

Huh? Lowell is right. Every color, in the absence or near absence of light, will appear black. As for green itself, I shoot greenscreen Chroma key every single day in the studio. Even when the lights fail to fire*, resulting in serious underexposure, the background still comes out green until the entire scene goes black - dark green perhaps, but still green.

*It happens! When I get trigger happy. Hey, the camera will fire roughly 3 times before the lights fully recycle.

Did a search and found nothing. Care to post a link since you already know where they are.

Same here...searched and only found links to this forum and thread. My K10D is outstanding! I have a K20D and still use the K10D as well...both great cameras. Two friends have a K10D and they say theirs are fine as well. I have never heard of this problem, even on this large forum devoted exclusively to Pentax products. And if there was a problem, we would have heard about it!

So....nobody is complaining here, none of my friends or relatives are complaining, and nobody on the internet is complaining. There is only a couple options left...the OP has a bad camera, the OP has misinterpreted his photos or has bad photos, or the OP has a gripe against Pentax and is trying to create a crisis where there is none (troll).

kkrs....please post the links to the several photographers who have issues.

Perhaps this is one of those "expose to the right" moments?

Having used a K10d for almost 2 years, I find the comments by the poster as rather humerous.
I think you have a lot to learn about exposure, use of flash etc before coming on here and blaming the camera..
I have found said camera to produce brilliant colour.
A camera is only as good as the mechanism behind the eyepiece.

Hey I thought there was a "be nice to newbs" rule here!

Of course when they make ou8trageous and unsubstantiated claims, all bets are off.

Newbies usually join to ask questions or share their love of photography or Pentax products. When a newbs first post is not a question or even a good 'ol "howdy", but merely a statement of negativity towards the product, it's a good bet that they are trolling.

If not, they have a funny way of introducing themselves.

Still waiting for links to all those photographers who have this problem.
