I like that layout. I had a few photos that cut themselves off, half on, half off the screen and I couldn't seem to get them centered. Very nice photos, just didn't see the whole photo on some when I clicked on it for the larger view.

Hi Reeftool,
Try scrolling the page up and down, will depend on your screen resolution.
Thanks for the feedback.

Nicely set up, I do think the sound effects are a bit much though, I would find them annoying after a while.

I am using Mozilla 1.7.8 (yes I know it's old, so is the machine I am posting this from!). It loaded the animation thing and displayed some of it, but I never saw any text, pictures, navigation tools, or anything else beyond the intro movie.

Might look good in newer browsers, but not in all older ones.

Then I went over to IE (6.0) and tried it (I normally avoid IE unless doing updates). It worked, but it's slow to load on an old box... Probably because of all the Flash (ick ick ick ick...) Sorry, but I hate websites that use Flash and don't make it easy to skip fancy animation, intros, etc. Using it is fine, but not all of us have it/want it. Simple is often its own virtue. I'm not a website designer, but I *do* design the user interfaces for the software I write and maintain, and I firmly beleive that too much eyecandy is a negative influence. Give us KISS types an easy way to avoid the fancy stuff, please.

My two cents, for what it's worth.

Jim

Interesting site and good photos, but I personally find the sound effects and repetitive music rather annoying after a while.

Also there are a couple of spelling mistakes:

- Top left Harbour Bridge photo - It's Kirribilli not Kirrabilli
- Top right Harbour Bridge photo - It's Milsons Point not Mission Point

The photography is excellent

Regards

It's a very nice website. Very different than what I used to see...isn't that what you like?
BTW, I think the text needs a little bit bigger. I find it a little bit difficult to read on my 1920x1080 LCD monitor.

Guys, you can turn off the background music by clicking on the equalizer symbol on the bottom of the web if you find it annoying. But I don't know how to turn down the sound effect.

Sorry, I don't like it at all. Sites that auto-load music annoy me, especially when I'm listening to some music already. Can't turn off sound effects. Took ages to load, even on a speedyish connection. The visual effects also put me off and I couldn't be bothered exploring beyond one click.

There's lots of people in the world, and Aus, that are still on dial-up. I don't think they could be bothered with it?

Nice photos. Great job.

However, the interface/intro part is too much for me. I like simple gallery views.

It is not a critisism though. Just my personal opinion.
