Got my vote naturally..... Great concept!

I have to add that due to Marc's fairly late entry we really need to push hard to get his vote count up. The only way he has a chance is to get into the top 20 of the popular votes. This is a whacked way of weeding down the field as it punishes late entries with potentially superior concepts to early entries of any quality. For instance, if Galen Rowell entered in the last couple of days with a kick-ass project, he would most likely not make the cut regardless of having a great idea and undisputed ability to deliver.

Please register and vote for Marc's project.

I realize too that we have at least a couple of other projects submitted by PF members but after looking at all of them (that I know of anyway), Marc's is, IMHO, the superior and more significant concept.

Mike
At the risk of sounding repetitive:

Your vote doesn't skew the final results - it's just to get my foot in the door and hopefully make the top 20. The final decisions are made on the originality and creativity of the entry (70%) and the photographer's skill level and experience as demonstrated in his/her portfolio (30%). Bottom line is that it's for a good cause!

Please leave a comment if you are comfortable doing that - this also pushes up my entry on the "most commented" list.

Regards,
Marc

I voted for you.... Getting in early or late isn't as big a deal as you might think - I was in the first 10 or 20 entries and you are already ahead of me...

I think advertising and "feel-goodness" I think has a lot to do with it....

If you are so inclined, you can vote for me as well Name Your Dream Assignment :: Beauty and Majesty of a Sport and a Country

You can vote for more than one

Also - if you are not in the US, you can still vote, and they are planning a second competition later that you will be able to enter...

Thank you and I've voted for you. I used to race elite level in cycling, so I understand! A former teammate of mine has raced in Le Tour...

I understand what you are saying about "feel-good" and I'm not going to be using amenities much the time, depending on the locale.

However this sort of project (that I envision) is much, much more than that. It's will be taking time away from earning my regular income and not being paid. To me this is important and I am willing to lose some income because of the principle of potentially making a difference.

Thank you again!

Regards,
Marc

Very cool Marc - I don't think I knew you used to race competitively ... very nice

I'll be in NW Ark sometime around the 4th of July - may have to hook up for a shoot or something.... (I'll be in Harrison...)

Another PIC here, Marc. All the best on this oppt!
Thank you! Please spread the word!

More than a few registrants are trolling for votes on their projects by soliciting new project submissions (I voted for you, can you vote for me!??) and try to artifically jack up their votes, not on the merit of their project...

Unfortunately not much can be done since it's not specified in the rules. I've already flagged one comment on my project about this (trolling for votes)... Some guy wanted to take his girlfriend to Australia and document the trip of sharing their love.... what the heck? It's already been removed...
