2GB SanDisk cards for $39.98

Was in at Staples today and found they had the regular SanDisk cards 1GB for $19.98 and the 2GB cards for $39.98 Get them while the price lasts. I bought 2 2GB and both work very well with 186 shot capacity in RAW on each card.

Good Shooting.
Cheers: David

thanks for the info. With the K10D will need more cards... Seems like we have plenty of time to buy cards as the wait continues.............................................................................................................................................................................................

Last year, getting a 2GB for $60 was a miracle. Now, memory cards are so cheap that they'll soon replace CD's.

Today, $40 for a 2GB SD is no surprise (although definitely a great deal), but the prices will keep on falling.

I'm currently on the lookout for a bargain 8GB for my K10D

You get what you pay for

Are those cards 40x or 80x? If not I don't even want to bother. With K10D you supposedly can shoot as fast as the card can record, so a _fast_ card is important. I've heard K10D can write to a memory card @ 20MB/s. Will those cards at Staple sustain that speed?

The reason this becomes important is because with older cameras, the write speed of the card didn't matter _as_ much. The camera processing time took way longer and there was usually a limit in how many pictures one could take continuously. So a faster CF or SD card didn't make much of a difference. But now that the camera can process the images faster than it can write it on the card, the speed of the card _is_ important.

It might be worth to invest more in an 80x card.

Also note the *ist series did support Lexar's WA (Write Acceleration) extension for its (133x) cards, I hope K10d will also have that...

I know that I'm safe- my cards are x150 from EP memory. I'll definitely be looking forward to fast shooting on the K10D

I'd guess that the cards from staples would be ok- most are at least x40 nowadays.

Check out Newegg.com. I bought 2 Transcend 150x 2 gig cards for 43.99 each.

I have found Newegg to be very good for general computing accessories.
