Its cool man. No big deal. I can appreciate what you were trying to do. Lets be one big happy family. I understand disagreements and critiques are part of life.

Cool. Here's a photo of my little one, attack the photo if you must but please not the baby This is taken with a K10D, DA* 50-135 @ f/2.8 (I think) in natural light.

Same camera & lens but with added bounced flash. Forgive the blown out whites but I was going for a high key effect.

You have a beutiful baby. The pics are wonderfull and like you said, it is all about those big beutiful eyes! You did an excellent job of capturing the eyes in the first with a gradual blurring of the background. A lot of the baby's face is in focus. A gradual blurring starts after the cheek.

The second one I knew immediately the effect you were after. Highlights in the face are in sharp focus with those big beutiful eyes! Excellent catchlights!

Thanks guy. I am now doing a review of a wireless flash setup.

Check it in the Camera and Accessories forum. Another lighting setup to photograph baby.

As if it hasn't been said enough.... Natural light is always the best, then bounce fash and other modes of soft light. It also depends on the age range. As they grow and have different reactions and lifes "little" moments you want to captuer what you want to remember. Sleeping shots are great for new born shots but once they start becoming more active just try to keep up. That is where the quick shots and natural lights are perfect. Hope that made some sense. Oh one more thing... as will most shots keep the back grownd simple. With "littleones" don't be afraid to get down to their level either. (ok so that was two more things =))

Here are some of my first shots

Good luck!

I really agree with Igilligan's advice, take as many pictures of your babies as you can, with whatever camera you have.

Below a picture of my youngest taken with a 4 Mp point-and-shoot, using built in flash, and a picture I would miss very much not having.

Another one, here taken in natural light (ISO 800) with my K10D and SMC-A 50mm F1.7, while she was watching TV.

A few more with bounce flash the other week.
Stupid me left the ISO up from when I was shooting with no flash previously.

He's starting to smile now too ... good times ahead.
