I guess I could have voted for portraiture but checked "other" because most of my portraiture isn't the kind you find at most studios. I like to do fantasy portraiture. Chicks with guns, vampires, stuff like that. I keep a bottle of stage blood on hand most of the time. I call it macabre photography or macabre portraits.

I do regular portrait work as well, but the question was regarding "favorite" genre. Still life photography is right up there for me as well.

The particulars escape me at the moment, but it's the genre I embraced as a young, healthy man, when all possibilities were limitless & before me.

I really like events and macro photography. I really think you should be able to select two.

After having spent more time with my camera and trying new experiences, especially in Germany and Switzerland I have to modify my choice a bit. I still shoot anything and everything that moves (hey gotta try everything right?) but I started really getting into night style photography. I came out with some really cool shots that I took right after dusk, so when exposed the shots (30seconds +/-) the sky shows up blue. Every chance I got I was setting the tripod up in some Markt Platz and trying out new things. Variations on what I saw worked really got me excited about the next shot.

other - I, like most people here I would assume, don't limit themselves to just one genre of photography.

I could have checked all the boxes.

When I first bought a DSLR, wildlife was my main interest, but I've since become a true generalist. I just like taking photos.

I chose wildlife (birds in particular) whereas a year ago, I would have chosen landscapes. It changes... and it actually changes with the season, for me. I find that here, winter is best for landscapes, and summer for birds. Spring and Autumn.. pfft...anything at all!
