Favorite genre of photography?

I'm curious...

While I enjoy several types of photography, the local wildlife is nearest and dearest to my heart.

Other - you've left out photojournalism and street photography.

I voted for Landscapes... I quite enjoy wildlife photography, but I'm going to have to develop patience to ever get any good at it. I always want to walk right toward the animals, and they always leave...

Landscapes get me out in the woods, and they don't run away when I run toward them. I find I can walk an amazing distance just seeing what shot is over the next hill and around the next turn, only to find, eventually, a long dark walk back to the car... good times!

Argh... I thought of street photography right after I posted, but can't edit the poll.

I forgot sports, too.

I'm relatively new to photography so I don't have a favorite genre yet. I like taking pictures of pretty much everything that catches my eye, although I've been shooting some street photos recently and I really liked it. People are pretty cool (assuming they don't run away when they see a DSLR)

I enjoy photography and view all aspects of it as a worthwhile challenge, thus don't really have a strong favorite. My business focuses on art, small product & fashion advertising, and industrial photography. My personal interests revolve around photojournalism, street photography, and travel photography. I also routinely experiment with others. None of these are specifically listed in the poll, so "other" was also my selection.

I find people to be the most surprising subjects; I guess chalk me up for portraiture.

I enjoy most of them, but I voted other: Motorsports and transportation. Not sure if it's a genre per se but I love to photograph cars, airplanes, boats, bikes etc. Maybe it is a distant relative to architecture

You were probably joking, but isn't that just a subset of portraiture?

Other.

I do a lot of photograhic work illustrating something about photography: testing DOF predictions, lens sharpness, SR effectiveness, etc.

It is not always easy to clearly show some principle by example.

I voted "other" because what I do most of is objects such as museum exhibits, or just "things" that catch my eye while walking around.
