I'm thinking something along the lines of

"You're tough enough for this. Expect the same from your camera."

or

"Ever missed a shot because your camera was too weak to come?"

or something similar... I like your mockup John, but I think the key is to position it broader than just rain. Nick's shots certainly add one dimension which I think is quite important: cold weather. Pentax should be the TOUGH camera that can handle a bit of abuse and happily keep shooting through it.

I think the direction is great, and hopefully they're listening in... Wish I wasn't swamped with my regular clients or I could spend a little bit more time at it, maybe even involve a creative team at the agency...

This sounds interesting and great! good Guerilla marketing can do very much.

I have worked in a small ad-agency for years. hmm I have to find time to make my own poster too!

I got one idea right on. Poster with big pentax logotype photoshop with "covered" with extreme elements and conditions And that K-7 above soaked and frozen... Well hve to play someday with photoshop. Could work, or then not. just have to try.

Or maybe,

Do you have 77 weather, dust, and cold-resistant seals?

We do.

I like the challenging yet tongue-in-cheek attitude. Keep 'em coming!

with those kind of slogans with attitude, I'm sure Pentax will get a lot of attention from the public. the only thing that is missing is the proper commercial tv ads for it.

another one:

with the K-7, the storm doesn't get you camera.
the camera gets the storm.
Pentax = ALL WEATHER.

Anybody else have photos to play with? Any designers out there willing to take a swing at this?
That ad is brilliant and they could use it as is right now with no lying, as it is an ad for the K7, and all the lenses pictured are weather treated. Has Pentax fired its marketing staff in the name of "efficiency" or something? Where are they?

I had little time and I screwed with photoshop. Obviously very rough draft still. But I think the idea shows. + Then it would need awesome photos taken in horrid weather and such to company this poster.

Anyway, needless to say. I like my K-7!

It works better in poster sizes, as I designed it to be A2 sized originally.

Subaru could have a Pentax edition with a K-7 in the glove box.

@Jaitas - cool, I love the elements on the Pentax logo! Maybe you can display the horrid weather photos as a filmstrip along the top somewhere.

@geauxpex - interesting. Subaru has done a special edition before - either Eddie Bauer or Land's End or something like that. Imagine a special Edition K-7, finished in the same blue as the WRX rally cars! Partnerships may be an interesting way to get the word out. Imagine a partnership with The North Face or Mountain Hardware or REI. Buy a fleece or shell or backpack and be entered to win a K7. Or buy a K7 and get a coupon from a partner.

Keep the great ideas coming!

Yeah those elements on the logo was the main idea, Even though those are just harsh photoshops. And I was thinking also those images taken in horrid weather. But alas, I don't have any good images taken under those kinds of circumcanses. And I also wanted to keep the poster as simple as possible. "Less is more"

But it would need some great images alongside the poster... like a "two part advert"

But this is kinda fun anyways.
