Making adornment by recycling well-engineered bits from old equipment is popular. There's a kind of sardonic arrogance about wearing it, though.

Recycled Typewriter Key Earrings

They even make decorations and purses out of soda can tabs!

Look at it logically, most of it will be old Canikon stuff. Old Pentax lenses are still useful and people probably won't part with them...

I can dig it! Mind you, I wouldn't wear it.
My daughter in law made our kitchen curtain rings out of our old cutlery and they look pretty cool.

So the lesson here is... Don't sell your old lenses, turn em into jewelry. They are more valuable in pieces than whole... to fashion lemmings anyway.

Good idea,

saw something similar from Jiro Kamata who's using the glass from these...

... to make such things:

Here's some more pics from his work,

Neat idea, but wow are they proud of their pieces.

I've got an old Takumar Bayonet 135 f2.5 that I wouldn't mind cutting up, but I don't think it would fit on my wrist without some reshaping.

That is what I was thinking regarding much of the Pentax line...teeny lenses require teeny wrists!

That reminded me on an episode of Star Trek when Spock was performing a mind meld and expressing the agony of a creature's thoughts.

I am sure some of the members will recall the crocheted cut aluminum beer/pop cans hat and purses of 30 years ago as well.

And +1 to the person who easily calculated that the lenses were likely not Pentax mount anyway. Best to get the garbage off our streets.
