Not sure where this goes

so am asking here. We, as in a sister, a brother and a niece are going to a concert held outdoors. It will be at night, but supposedly with lots of lights. Which film speed would be best? Remember, I'm using a film camera.

I thought perhaps 1600ISO Fuji or 800ISO Fuji. What do you all say?

As fast as possible, IMHO at least 1600.

Thanks. The concert isn't until Oct. 17th so I have time to get some ordered from Adorama.

Yes, but not like you'd expect of films of the past, and certainly not as bad as if you were forced to underexpose a slower film.

Fuji's 1600 print film is very good. As with most negative films, I tend to suggest rating it a third or a half of a stop lower in camera if you have the luxury.

Thanks for the info on the grain.

With the labs I use, I doubt they know how to process pushed or pulled film. Though as important as these rolls will be, I'll probably not use a local lab.

I'm also thinking about getting an extra roll. I have a great nephew who is into acting and he's going to be in a play in December, where they don't allow flash photography. Of course, if I have the digital by then, it won't matter.

I actually put off ordering two rolls for now. I did order two but one is for my sister, then I ordered some 400 and 200 to just use around here. And for the Pentax Day thingy.

I'm closer to that Digital now too. Maybe November.

Woohoo. That film's supposed to be pretty nice. A friend sent me a roll to try, but I haven't gotten around to it. Maybe I'll try it when the holiday season lights start coming out. This town kind of has fun things that go on with all the different lights with different balances, and a tendency for the air to get misty. One thing about digital is it's got me playing with color a lot more than I had been for a long time.

Yeah, Lowell I thought about it. But my family likes color. They aren't photographers like me, so anything that's not color they scoff at. Even though I can see it would be cool to shoot b/w.
