DIY PTTL Macro Flash

Got to thinking on how I could do flash with my 90/2.5.
I ended up making an adjustable tube with a diffuser on the end.
The rubberband is held in place by the hotshoe insert. The metal hooks for the band, is a paper clip run threough the tube. The inside of the tube is covered in tin foil. Things one thinks of when it has rained for a week.

I took the test photo at minimum focus distance.

Good DIY job there, I like it.
I've been considering making something similar, but my macro setup would need a very close object-to-lens distance, so I would need to bend the light round and over a bit more.

Have you tried it out as a kaleidoscope yet?

Never done kaleidoscope.
Getting the light to more of a down angle would be easy. I'm going to work on an addition for when I use the extension tubes.
