Stupid question, where can I get a copy of remote assistance v1? Did this come with in the software that came with the camera? I know I have it somewhere but can't find it. Or is this something that is purchased from Pentax? My original computer that I downloaded all the software has died long ago so I have lost all the software that came with my camera (k100d).

I'll try the three tips with my K100D. I always use RAW in my observatory anyway. I have noticed an incompatibility with RAW vs JPG resulting in garbage files.

Is the lack of support/programs for the K7 a reflection on the number of people not wanting to use the camera for studio style shooting where tethered is of use? hmmm

I've read that Pentax doesn't have the resources to develop a new Remote Assistant for the K-7. It would be sad if that's really true. I hope tethered shooting will come for the K-7 or an updated model because it really can be a great tool.

Doesn't have the resources?? That's like you telling a homeless guy you don't have change so he'll leave you alone!

They were able to make Version 4 of the Photo Utility for the K7 when they could have kept Photolab3. Especially when I figure most people dont use those programs anyway and would use Lightroom, ACDSee, etc.

Pentax is in no position right now to start taking away features that were in its predecessors. If, God forbid, they use the "you could always go to Canon/Nikon" rationale, that's gonna hurt 'em.

Been using the Pentax s/w for a while now and apart from a glitch while moving to Win7, it's been very good. So much so that I use it all the time for my studio work.

Indeed when I upgrade from K10 it will be to K20, and NOT beyond, as I would be lost without it
