I noticed that in the monthly contests and various other places, a lot of you also include the camera setting for each picture. Do you keep a log of each picture, or just have a "standard setting" for each type of picture subject?

Digital photos have internal information called the EXIF data.

It is writen to the photo file by the camera at the time the photo is taken.

It includes all the exposure information.

Back in "film days" people would keep a record of their exposure settings.

If you use flickr or ever go to flickr to look at other people's photos, you can click "More Properties" and see some of the EXIF data as well. For instance: Flickr: More detail about Day 203: Matching Shot
