Hi:

I have been trying beauty and fashion work more seriously since I set up a home studio. I clearly am at the beginning of the journey, but I think my shots, though still fairly simple, have begun to get better. I plan my shots more, seem to shoot less, and really try to figure out my lighting. I will post a few recent shots I took.

Ben: I really enjoy your work and appreciate your blogs and tips. They are very helpful and provide a lot of "inspiration."

Hi:

Here are two I recently did. Some levels adjustment and some work in Phototools 2.5, but more for the finishing look and b&w conversion, no significant touch ups in RAW or CS4. Shot at ISO 100, I think f8, with a beauty dish.

Non-scientific yet interesting observation none-the-less: No one who shoots fashion here seems to shoot mens' fashion. I have seen men's fashion spread in the occassional magazine such as GQ. Who does those? (I think I could enjoy that!!!!

Recognizing that fact is one reason I have a couple of male models lined up for this spring...
