PSA - Watch for Ticks!

Especially for those of you who like to tramp thru the woods. I've plucked 6 ticks from my body already!

I'm trying to be more diligent in my use of insect repellent

Ticks must hate me, because I've gone through some pretty high fields and forests and stuff and I don't think that I ever have had one on me. Must be that my blood is too sour or something for them.

That creeps me out and I am not a creeped out kind of guy. Something about the texture and colour. Maybe you could pose it and make it truly horrific?

Wow, that is one nasty looking bug. I know around here in Ohio I get them whenever I go out to take pictures in any kind of long grass.

I wanna move to NZ.

Not because of the ticks, though. NZ is just so primordially beautiful.

Lucky you. You don't want ticks to "love" you.

Also, have you heard about their tooth brush fence? Now with more than 50 toothbrushes.

We have a major problem with ticks here in Aus as well.
I took a Naturapath's advice, as I react badly to ticks. He advised me to take a daily Vitamin B tablet and they would be repelled.
Tried it, I work in very bushy areas, have'nt had a tick in almost 2 years.

Then again, maybe I have just been lucky

I walked through a conservation area last weekend without a shirt on in some pretty dense woodland and I came out tick free...didn't use any repellent either...it was very weird.

I lived in South Jersey around 35 years ago and I can remember picking the ticks off me everytime we went camping or hiking in the woods down there. Worse place I have ever seen.

Ticks are definitely not on the 'Most lovable creatures' list.

Due caution is always a good thing. I don't get too many near-misses (What I do to protect from the Sun also slows those guys way down,) but I still check darn carefully when I've been near where they like to be.

I like to carry around this little police light, for varying purposes: apart from being pretty indispensable for someone who carries around 'Lots of round black objects' and is always trying to fix stuff, they really make inspections about as easy as you could ask.
