And what does P-TTL mean.
As noted you can use the flash and the camera will fire it but you'll be adjusting output each time your situation changes. If you are continually (in one sitting) shooting the same type subject, distance, etc that won't be much of a problem. Once you change your setting though, you'll be recalculating the flash output.
Very Simply put, P-TTL is Pentax's proprietary TTL. Each manufacturer has their own (I think Canon is E-TTL).

Per the database, the DS2 will work with both TTL and P-TTL. The K7 is P-TTL only but you knew that already, right?
