Second round of K-5 Silvers? Has Pentax ever done released a second run of a silver body before?

I already have K-5 Silver and K-01 with that lens on order. Maybe I switch them, just to look as cool as all those new sets

Any idea if there is anything different in this K-5 Silver then the first batch?

I thought those XS lenses were only usable on the K-01, I guess I was wrong?

I know some look at cameras from a strict utilitarian viewpoint, but for me, if I am going to use a tool extensively, I might as well like it. I have the K7 and K5 in silver already, but the lens looks intriguing.

Some future XS lenses might be only mirrorless due to recessed elements, but not the 40XS

I think there's some firmware tweaking that raises the mirror when the X lenses are mounted to allow the rear element to get close to the sensor. I might be wrong, and maybe the lens has enough clearance for the mirror to slap down. I hope I'm wrong, because 1600 is a lot of money for a camera that is stuck on live view.

Nice move...

It looks like a bit of a jumpstart to future products. Only 1500 produced and a bit of a tie-in with the new K-01. Maybe the marketers (some would say that Pentax doesn't have any) got tired of hearing about the questionable aesthetics of the K-01, and decided that re-releasing the top of the mark with a smidge of K-01 was what was in order. Isn't that what Steve Jobs would have done - no thread-hyjack intended?

Nice kit as a brit might say. For those that are on the fence about purchasing a K-5, what more could you want?

I can't afford a silver K-5 right now, but the local hardware store has spray cans of silver on special for two bucks. Hmmm......

The fact that this comes with a DA40 XS makes me intrigued about the lens...when it's available by itself I may have to look into getting one, even though I have a DA40 Limited (I do have both a K-5 and a K20D, after all!).
