Nothe that there is a discount on the 645 D too; sign of an announcement of at least a high end APS-C (K3) and a 645D version 2, both with higher pixel count...

So Pentax is encouraging people to buy FF compatible lenses with their best current APS-C camera... Kinda odd.
Somehow I doubt it has anything to do with the lenses being "FF compatible" or not, but rather that the K-5II's are not moving as fast as they'd like and they recognize that the (lifetime) profit margins on the FA's are high enough to easily absorb the rebates. (Of course, considering just how much is "new" in the K-5II/s, there's some profit margin room there, too!)

Plus, what makes the K-5IIs stand out more than an FA Limited? It is all about the glass...

Pfffft, cynics! If it was to sell the k-5IIs, why bundle it with expensive lenses! Even with the rebate, those are some expensive lenses that the normal people wouldn't really consider getting.

If I were to try to sell the k-5IIs fast, I would bundle it with the 18-135/18-55WR and give a nice $200 rebate. That would sell the k-5IIs much faster than this bundle.
If I was in the market for a K-5IIs and I really want to show off its sharpness potential, i would much rather buy their best glass than a couple of mediocre zooms.
I have the 18-135, and while i use it all the time and it is really useful, its optics are not on the same level as a limited, and i think most people recognize that, especially those in the market for a high level dslr.

If ever there was a time to execute the "Sell it all and buy the current dSLR and the FA Limiteds" strategy, now is the time.

Hmmmmmm .....

This rebate lends some credence to the weekend rumor of 5 new Pentax DSLRs. 5 sounds a bit high, but some of those might simply be versions with and without the AA filter.

so maybe Pentax does not want too many AA-less models? Cutting a small niche into too many pieces?

If I bought the K5IIs and the 3 primes from B&H will the rebates count even if i'm in Canada?

I had them in my cart then I didn't see anything about "outside of USA" and Pentax Canada has NOTHING like this going on
