Pretty sweet. Drops the DA 35 f2.4 and DA 50 f1.8 to 130-ish with the purchase of a camera body.

Some went up, others went down via instant rebate. Care to guess why that might be?

It is a conspiracy to increase the total Post Number at something called PentaxForums.

Hmm.. to get people to accept the increases more easily?

Anyway, any idea if this affects Europe as well? Or is it just the US?

The article clearly states that it's talking about US prices only. European prices should be comparable, but there's no increase that I know of.

All will be revealed in time. There are tactics and there is strategy. These are tactical moves setting up for summer and the fall, and for some strategic changes. Things that we have asked for are coming. It takes a long time to correct the errors of the prior administration and to restore trust.

I'm not sure how jacking up prices an average of 25% or so on 11 established lenses helps to "restore trust."

We know most of our gear is better than most of Canisonikon's, but we are perceived as the cheap, price leader. If you could put a red dot on a Q it could sell for 3x as much money.

Dealers won't stock us because we've lost their trust with Ned's BigBox, Distributor strategy. Consumers won't buy Pentax because they can't touch it first.

3rd Party manufacturers won't release in K-mount because consumers won't buy us. Consumers won't buy us because there isn't a 3rd Party option, so we're not perceived as credible.

Few accessories because there's no volume. No accessories, so no purchases because we're not credible - on and on and on.

This is tactics..

Remember prices are up for all high grade lenses and not the consumer lenses. Volume is driven by consumer grade cameras/lenses where PENTAX is offering heavy discounts.
