That's cool! So you can take the camera on things like bike rides?

I was rather stunned: no pics in there to actually show their products?

Yeah, the great wall of text would have benefited from some pictures.

No kidding !

Would be better with "action" shots: snow, mud, water, mountains, rivers ... that sort of thing.
It has to show that it is indeed "rugged".
A picture is worth a thousand words ... where did I ever see those words before?

It might be interesting to have one to take into places where I will not take my K5.

I was wondering when the WG series, being a compact line, was going to get officially turned over to the Ricoh side.
Every time a new WG comes out and the current ones go on super sale I tell myself I will buy one as a carry around camera for everywhere a DSLR is just too clunky or too big a liability, but I just never do.
Wish they had the full tech specs up, I would be curious to see how battery time differs from the WG-3 where I heard it was not the greatest.

I don't see these competing well against GoPro...

I don't think GoPro is the issue

I feel that Pentax is on the right track here. Solid camera, decent specs, makes sense. Issues: 1-In order to truly revolutionize the underwater market, it needs to go to 125-135ft for an hour. Then ANY certified diver would use it. 2- double the output of the LEDs. 3- Install "fleck and backscatter filtering for plankton blooms that give the pics the "snow" effect in some water. Pentax is closer than everyone else... WG5 will nail it...
