Goodbye ghost of the MZ-D!!!!!
I banish you!!!

Could be this is only the first in an entire line of FF Pentaxes. Who knows?

Would that then be a multiple Pentaxagasm?

I was in my dentists office getting my teeth cleaned.

Tell me you were somewhere more exciting than that?

Ricoh even know that most Pentaxian are cheap and poor bastards, so they announce a year in advance so we have time to save up!

Thanks Ricoh!

"Compatible with DA-series interchangeable lenses, using an image-cropping function"

This was my thought.. it appears the camera will switch to an image cropped mode when a DA-series lens is attached to it. The big question is, can this be disabled?

Or will it only function on lenses like the kit zooms and the wider limiteds that don't cover the 35mm sensor while the da50 da40 da70 etc that are useable on 35mm aren't subject to sensor cropping...

Hopefully that's the case because I don't want to get rid of my da40 limited...

I have no words, just emotions.

I was (and still am) in a management meeting at HQ.
I almost jumped out of my seat, when I sneaked a peek at these forums.

My smile? The presenter probably has some wild ideas what site I am looking at, or what my hands are doing under the table.

I have a smile that is NOT normal for the setting I am in.

Emotions beyond explanation.

Vindication, relief, satisfaction...you name it.

Like finally my favorite team has done something amazing.

It will be an option, not mandatory, I'm sure.

There will be something like a menu that says: 'Image area - Auto DX Crop - On | Off | Auto' (akin to Nikon) or 'APS-C Size Capture - On | Auto |Off' (like Sony).

Love the "Yes it's a Pentax"

People ask me what I shoot with and then I tell them and I know they don't no what to think. They do fine when they see my work. I shoot real estate professionally for agents.

Y'all know I was just playing when I said, "I wouldn't buy a FF if they released one this year" right?!

This is an absolutely monumental announcement. This just had to happen at some point. I literally cried when I saw the email.

The prophecy is fulfilled.

I've got Takumars from the 60s, M primes from the 70s/80s, and digital era FA Limiteds that will all work with this camera.

Kind of cool.

Except for a couple of DA zooms, my glass arsenal is all full frame. I guess that makes me a good prospective customer for the new... whatever its name gonna be.

But from my collection, there's one baby I'm really looking forward to use on full frame: My SMC-A 15 f/3.5.
