Can you please approach Sigma and ask them whether the K-1 and or the KFA-4 mount may change their stance on releasing new lenses for K-mount again?

We Pentaxians would like the old Sigma back that provided us with great alternatives to Pentax lenses and filled some of the holes in the Pentax line up.

Given that Sigma has a "mount conversion" program, they must have an internal interface to a variety of mounts (similar to the old Adaptall-2 approach). Producing one more "adapter" for K-mount cannot be that cost-intensive, can it?

Are you planning a Pentax interview again this year? Can you perhaps interview Sigma, Tamron, etc. as well?

P.S.: Perhaps Sigma could do a Kickstarter campaign to gauge the interest for some of its lens models in K-mount. If there is sufficient backing, they could do a respective production run.

Does Ricoh have any media events planned? Are they at the booth or in a separate meeting room? If in a meeting room, how big is the room?

That won't happen. Sigma is a respected company and kickstarter is for those who want to become a respected company.

I recall a post where the OP had spoken to one of the 3rd party lens makers (it may have been Sigma) and was told it is quite a challenge to design a lens barrel that can support the K-mount mechanics and other manufacturer's specifications. Doing so could lead to compromises in the overall lens design. So if the lens wasn't designed from the bottom up to support K-mount you won't be able to change the mount.. Note also that the conversion service is limited to 8 lenses - three of those are for Micro four thirds and Sony E-mount.

Cost of the conversion is from $80 to $250 USD depending on the lens and mounts.

Priolite is a respected company as well and they still did a Kickstarter campaign. There are more examples like that; your assumption does not hold.

That's why I raised the point about the KFA-4 mount. It should make it easier to support K-mount as no mechanical linkage to the aperture will be required anymore.

In general, I think there are many similarities between the mounts and even supporting mechanical variants of the K-mount probably was not that hard when Nikon lenses still also required a similar approach. However, we need not debate about this point because of the existence of the KFA-4 mount.

I realise that. I'd very much appreciate support for K-mount, even if it is limited to those eight lenses, a subset that will probably grow in the future, right?
