I wonder what advancements they have in store for us? I really expected the K-1 to stay in production through this year.

Indeed. I have used pentax equipment since the days of the spotamatic. of the Bayonet mounts, I shall never forget my enduring love for the K-2, though I haven't bought a roll of film since
I went digital, but my real favorite in the K-1. It made top spot because it got rid of the need for most flash photography which never worked right for me even after 40 years of practice.

Good news!

If the other thread is correct and the leaked specs really are true, they have absolutely nothing for us. I don't think I've ever been this disappointed to see leaked specs before.

I really really hope it isn't true.

Exactly...the Leaked Specs are of WHAT exactly ? 2 discontinued Models , with NOTHING to replace them ? This sounds really hopeful and exciting.....

Pentax K-1 Mark II DSLR camera detailed specifications leaked | Pentax Rumors

Basically same sensor, accelerator chip added, better SR, and maybe a bit deeper buffer. We'll see about auto focus performance when it is released, but certainly it isn't a huge update over the current K-1.
