I'll say it before anyone else does.

If those are really true, it's awful. No one is going to upgrade for that. They might as well not have bothered.

Well, they've discontinued the K-1, so just think of it as the same product but now with an image co-processor.

Of course you wouldn't trade in just two years after buying the original. Although some K-1 owners also bought a silver one when it became available.

I've been thinking of getting another K-1. With rumblings of a successor, I've held off, hoping to capitalize on modern tech and a better camera. If these rumors are true, I'll buy a used K-1 instead. That'll be one less new camera sale for Ricoh.

I don't think Ricoh expects anyone to upgrade their K-1 just yet... This is a mid-term minor update in true "Mk II" fashion. It'll bring in those who were about to buy a K-1 but holding off for the latest version, and perhaps convince some to make the jump from KP and other APS-C models to full frame.

I'll admit, it's not a particularly impressive update if the scope of the leaked specs is accurate and complete... but the K-1II will still be a very fine camera, slightly improving on the original.

I must say, I'm a bit disappointed (if true). Somehow I managed to hope for more.
Yet we were told the K-1 will be sold for a longer period, one year ago.

My bet is, this is our FF camera for two more complete years = until 02/2020.

I bet something is about to happen that no one here has thought of - a real departure from expectations.
