Make sure your wearing thongs or some other rubber footwear as thongs saved my life when I was hit by lightening on 6/12/2016. if its lightening and its the sort going from earth to sky it will travel in a direction and it will usually follow a trail that it had used previously. Safest place is in a vehicle as the tyres are rubber. A photo is not worth your life.

Kombivan. Thongs may have saved your life in a lighting strike. But, I beg to differ. A car protects you because the metal directs the bolt around the shell instead of through it and you. I don't believe for a second a couple inches of rubber is going to significantly slow down a bolt that has just jumped across a few Miles of air.

I still have the burnt tongs I was holding on the BBQ and the thongs and my hospital arm band. and there was only 1/8 of an inch of rubber on my thongs enough for me not to be grounded. I still have to see the doc about the burnt muscle tissue in my shoulder it was an after thing you can believe what you like. Lightening also starts from the ground and reaches up then it is connected from the sky.
