Pentax K2000 announced in the US

Pentax USA today announced the K2000.

The K2000 (K-m outside of USA) is a 10 MP camera, and despite it's reasonable price it includes shake reduction and a stainless steel mount. Autofocus is compatible with all Pentax autofocus lenses whether SDM or screw drive. The camera uses AA batteries.

Pentax also announced a P-TTL ring flash and the DA* 55mm/1.4 and DA* 60-250mm f/4 weather-sealed lenses.

The 55mm prime sounds nice - but kinda got my heart set on the Zeiss Planar T* 1.4 - though the Pentax lens does look like being cheaper and will have auto focus.

Got all excited there about the ring flash - until I read more and it's a Macro ring flash Nothing agaisnt Macro rings, but a nice big portrait style ring for under $1K would have very welcome news.

ISO 100 - 3200 capability for the K-m/K2000 and the package incudes smc DA glass and a flash.... watch the price of K100D's go even further south
When it comes time to upgrade I'll be lucky to get a fiver for the K100D!

I hope that the third party grips for the K100D fit it.

DA15mm f/4 ED AL Limited

I was admittedly a bit disappointed to find that this guy was going to be as slow as it is, but I guess you can only make tiny little lenses so fast. =)

AA batts - that's good in my eyes.
So, is the K2000 and the Km different, if one has a smaller buffer as stated above?

Amazon lying about the list price.

Anyone else noticed how Amazon are lying about the list price of the K2000 kit? They are showing a list price of $1089.31 when Pentax have it at $699.95.

I saw that... hmm.. i think sunday. One of the auctions ended at $365.

I was really tempted to bid on it, but i wanted to know how much it'd go for without me bidding on it...

At the same time, I couldnt remember if ProDigital2000 had a good or bad rep...

The biggest complaint people have is shipping speed. There is a thread somewhere on them.
