Pentax today announced a new DSLR, the K-7.
The key newsworthy specifications are
- HD movie mode at 30 fps (1536 x 1024 @ 30fps, 1280 x 720 @ 30fps, 640 x 416 @ 30fps)
- up to 5.2 fps in continuos shooting mode,
- 1/8000s top speed,
- 77 segment metering in addition to centerweight and spot,
- HDR function which creates one image from three shots taken with differeent exposures,
- automatic correction of distortion and lateral chromatic aberration (works with DA, DA* and D FA lenses);
- an electronic level indicator supposedly helpful for landscape photography,
- advanced shake reduction and dust removal system,
- upgraded 11 point autofocus system SAFOX VIII+,
- 3" rear LCD monitor with 920,000 pixels,
- magnesium alloy, weather sealed body,
- proprietary D-LI90 Lithium-Ion battery,
- and the camera is designed for use down to -10 degrees C (14 degrees F).
