PENTAX ANNOUNCES DCF CS BINOCULAR SERIES

News update from the official Pentax website:

GOLDEN, Colorado (December 16, 2009)…PENTAX Imaging Company announced the PENTAX DCF CS series binoculars. Featuring a bright, clear field of view, the DCF CS binoculars offer phase coated roof prisms that provide high resolution, high contrast images. Silver-deposited sub-prisms also reflect more light through the prism for a brighter image. The fully-multi-coated optics provide maximum light transmission and highly reduced internal reflections, and the inner-focus optical design allows improved sealing and improves durability and overall balance.

The PENTAX DCF CS binoculars are available in 8x42 and 10x42 magnifications, and offer fiber-reinforced polycarbonate bodies for strength and rigidity. Waterproof and nitrogen-filled (JIS Class 6) to handle the most extreme weather conditions, these latest PENTAX binoculars are submersible to just over three feet/one meter. Other features of the DCF CS series include:
• A full rubber housing protects the binoculars from shock and makes them easier to hold.
• Center diopter ring with click stops is easy to access and holds the adjustment firmly.
• Long eye relief for comfortable viewing with or without glasses.
• Helicoid eyepieces with four click stops allow users to properly set the eye relief.
• Compact size (5.6 inches and 5.8 inches) for maximum comfort in field use.

The PENTAX DCF CS series binoculars will be available in February 2010. The 8x42 model will be priced at $279.95 USD and the 10x42 model under $299.95 USD.
