I understand what you were after, but visually the image is very confusing.. I think a lot of this has to do with the depth of field, which, IMHO, is too deep. I assume that the areas on either side of the "post" are walls that are behind said post. If that is the case, the DOF allows them to jump forward and backward visually depending on where I am looking. Frankly, it's making me dizzy.

Had the DOF been more shallow, this would have forced the wall into the background and anchored the image somewhat.

I think it's still doable even with this DOF, just need some PPing, bit more colour, contrast, and some vignetting effect IMO....

but as it's presented now it doesn't move me at all, but keep at it
