I like this picture except for the large spot on the left side of the pic where the fog meets the ground. Is this caused by having the sun in the shot? If so, would a hood have helped. I don't think it is anything on the lens as it only shows up in several versions I have of this picture.

Any other comments?

The spot looks like a dust spot, as in dust on your camera sensor.
