Nature Melbourne Zoo

I was with the Monash Photo Club Melbourne Zoo outing when I took this picture. Actually I didn't really like the giraffe and zebra section as they smelled awful.

But, I came across with a weird idea to compose a different picture in the zoo instead of taking picture of a zebra's face.. Here it is, any suggestions or critiques are welcomed.

The flowers are beautiful, but I probably don't like the animals dead center. They draw to much attention away from the foreground since they are not the main focus of the photo (not being sharp). The lens flare doesn't help either. But I'm far from a expert on these sort of things. Keep on experimenting!

Lots to take in as the subject here. Makes for too much distraction.
I like your idea of using the giraffes as an interesting background, but they're not so complementary both aesthetically and in terms of scene lighting.

Indeed the central composition also makes the image less interesting, and the harsh sunshine does make it hard to render the scene nicely.
