Moving somber image.
Nicely captured, although it does lack contrast and clarity, which might improve the look of the image significantly if you managed to get it in RAW.

It's a wonderful shot, the photo conveys emotion very successfully and that's makes it a winner. Technical aspects like grain are secondary, if anything it adds to it.

IMO this shot demands B&W. I like the shot technically as it is but as one photographer recently said, B&W removes the distactions of colour and lets you see deeper into the people in the shot.

As for the subject, excellent. Actually tough to look at. You can see just enough of her face to feel the pain and it asks so many questions. She clearly had a good relationship with him that she misses greatly. Tough shot but wonderful as well.
