People So Serious

This is my first post on PentaxForums.

This shot is of my daughter, Julianne. Shes's normally very playful but looks very serious in this shot. I wanted to get a naturally looking shot indoors using light coming in from the window.

If I took this shot again I would have closed the aperture at least one stop smaller. Her right eye is a bit out of focus.

I think it could use a touch more contrast, and a bit of sharpening. The yellow shape in the top right is very distracting.

Other than that I thinks it's a wonderful shot, great composition, and some amazing detail in the eye.

Thanks for your comments, Gaelen. I took this shot in my living room. The yellow thing is a blow-up school bus.

I think if you do what gaelen says with contrast and sharpening, and bring the eye just a littttttttle more, you have a winner. Can selectively desaturate the bow-up school bus a little

I agree with the others, great eyes, lovely composition. The yellow shape is slightly distracting, but I understand that taking photos of children in child friendly homes can lead to all sorts of bright colours in the background :-)
