Macro Candy

I took this photo with my macro lens but I didn't use a tripod so I had to sharpen it and the aperture (if I remember correctly it was about 8 cause I wanted a 'bit' blurry background, I didn't find the original file which has all the info on iso and so on, probably on my desktop that is elsewhere atm) was too big it seems and hence too little dof. I really need more practice using the macro lens.
Anyway there it is. Any tips and critique appreciated as I would like to get better in macro work. To me the flower stems look a bit like sugar candy canes so the name came from there.

In many ways I like this shot, but I'm not a fan of that unopened bud in the center. It's a distraction and takes away from the symmetry of the shot, IMO. Great colors and bokeh, though!

I agree with the bud thing. I guess I was bit lazy to leave it there.
