Finishing hike came across this very young deer!

Wow- it looks very young indeed! I really like the pose it made here, but the shot itself isn't that well-composed because of the twig(?) in the lower portion.

Thanks Adam, I believe that was fence railing. It was very nervous and was moving around a lot, had a hard time getting real close. I like the pose which I thought it made for a different shot than the normal...

I think it would look best cropped as a vertical shot - would take away some of the problem the fence poses. But it's a nice shot regardless of what anyone thinks. :-)

I really like it, fence or no. Nice color, and of course, the subject is one that you might see when you don't have your camera ready.

Thank you to everyone for your comments. I agree that it might look better as vertical. I also agree with twokatmew...I was so glad I had my camera with and able to grab the shot.
