Flower in a Lily Pond
Lens: Pentax 100-300mm Camera: K-7 Photo Location: St. Louis ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F5.6

Thought this was kinda of a cool shot of a flower in a lilly pond...

I think its gorgeous! but I have to say, I am too far a newb to give any negative critique... I think its a very well balanced shot with the purple of the lily pad complimenting the lily.... anyways thats my two cents =)

Wonderful color; in fact, the shot is so nice and so full of potential I hope more shots at slightly different orientations or angles were attempted. For example, I would have like to see how it looked with the flower closer to the lower right hand corner.

Thank you very much for the critique....I think what impressed me most is that this and many others taken at this lilly pond were with a lens that is not as highly regarded as others, but I was very impressed with the clairity, sharpness and in general the overall color. This is just the raw photo with no adjustments using PP or anyother program.
I was using the older FA Silver Pentax 100-300mm in AV mode...

Thank you for sharing this photo, a stunning shot. You must have been exited when you found it. You've caught the bloom in all it's glory - did you take any close ups as well?

Thanks,

I believe that I might have some closer shots. I now wish I would of had a macro with me but was still very pleased with the shots. Like I said I was using a lens that has ok ratings. Clearly I think the lens is highly under rated based on what I got. I might have to go back to see what else I can get.
