Happy Face!
Lens: DA*50-135 Camera: K20D Photo Location: Texas ISO: 1000 Shutter Speed: 1/90s Aperture: F4

Shot this some time back at a Church picnic/dinner...it was a point and shoot...I pointed and said "smile" and she did! Printed it for her husband, and it is his favorite of her.......she is always smiling!
A little noisy, but it was in the evening and I was at ISO 1100.....and you take what you can get, no regrets!
Regards!

That's an excellent picture. As I was viewing it on my computer I had to scroll to view it all on the screen, and I'm not sure if I liked it better cropped to just the portion of her face below the glasses, down to just below her chin. But then it becomes almost square, so you might not like that.

Thanks Paul, and that is an interesting idea. I viewed it that way, and sort of liked it myself. I usually get frustrated that I tend to cut heads off a little, but maybe it is not always a bad thing? Here is one where I used a 10x10 square crop......head chopped off...but I do still like it?
Best Regards

The only real issue I would have with the first one, is that I have to scroll to see the whole thing. As you show in your second one, a cut-off top of the head isn't always a bad thing. It would be difficult to Not like that photo (though I'm sure there are some who could)..

The top of the head is usually not important.

I don't think it would be possible to dislike that 2nd picture.

ISO 1100? Should have just used some fill flash, even with the pop up on camera, which would have allowed a lower ISO. It could have also helped with adding warmth to the coolness of the shot.

Yes, I agree it might have been better....then it might not have......Hindsight is always 20/20, and I am usually lucky if I just get a decent snapper. Thinking ahead comes when I get to be a better shooter.....which may be a while, anyhow, I'm not holding my breath!
Regards!
