I took this picture just taking a walk near my house one day...let me know what you think... (I hope I posted this right...I'm brand new to everything photography!)

Photo needs to be larger to be able to critique it properly. Can you please upload a larger version?

Seems a little over exposed. I'd like to see more detail in the flower petals and the bee. It might actually benefit from a good cropping since the OOF background doesnt really add any thing to the picture as a whole, just drab and gray/brown. So first I'd crop it to showcase your subject more and then take down the exposure at least a stop to begin with. Afterward, I'd add a little clarity and try to bring out the fine details.

Again, a tight crop is in order.
None of that background material complements the subject.
This flower would lend well to a square crop centrally placed for its symmetry.
