Don't know where the comments are on this one? It is a very nice capture in my eyes......well composed and tells a short story we can relate to. You do know you owe that pigeon....you said so...go back and bring him a bag of seeds!
Great thinking to catch this one! Maybe turn down the highlights......just a little.....it is a part of the reality, but just a little strong and calls for attention at first glance.
Regards!

I actually have turned them down considerably - the shot came out very contrasty - but left at this level precisely in order to grab attention... Not a good idea?

Hard to say...it does grab you eye momentarily, but not long enough to degrade from the viewing experience in my opinion. Maybe it is best just like it is? It is a very nice shot.....maybe I already said that?
Regards!

It's a fine street silhouette.
The contrast is what makes this silhouette stand out.
I also admire the result, with the suggestion that a slight crop of the negative space on top may improve composition - though it would leave a more panoramic image shape.
Well done.

Agreed. Crop about an inch off the top so that the end of the hallway (the white box) is centered vertically on the page and then you've got a really nice geometry adding to the composition. Well done.

I hear you, but that would chop off the electric flex with the plug hanging off the ceiling (have you noticed it - left top?), and I'd hate to lose that

recomposed, chopped off the top, centred (almost) the bright patch. aspect ratio 1*2

I see now - this would make a nicer print. What do you say?

I like the edited version more. It is more to the point. And it is very powerful image, although this motif has been used many times. In fact, it is rather sad that one can "come across" such images in their everyday life. As a person (not as a photographer) I much rather this was a posed shot, but obviously it is not.

Better. I'm being particular here, but it looks like you cropped off part of the bottom in this second one. I prefer the bottom uncropped, but that's just me.

Well done!
