Very unusual.....no question about that! Can't say that I am a fan of it......it won't meet my "would I print and hang" guideline....but it is a good shot, and...it is unusual!
Hey, I am the guy that likes to have a little fun, and experimentation is always a good sign from my viewpoint.

This doesn't appear to be much of a photo to critique, but here goes:
Simplicity: it's there, and it's effective with the bold use of a single colour enhancing the subject matter.
Focusing: doesn't seem quite right - you got his eyebrows in focus, but little else. That's a little disappointing - I'd have boosted ISO and shot at f/16, particularly since the background doesn't have much to distract from the subject.
Pose: sorry, doesn't do it for me - unusual, but not engaging.
