Just got a k-x on tuesday and this is one of the first few shots i took . I have no idea what i'm doing but in my opinion i think the photo says alot for Pentax. After reading for a week and looking at the photos i have taken i deffinetly need a tripod. I live right were the cheaspeak bay and patuxent river meet,so i see alot of sunsets sunrises and nature in my future. Nothing has been done to the photo this is just how it came off the camera. Any suggestions on equipment that would help me out and comments on the photos will be greatly appreciated . Oh the first shot was at 26.3mm and it was dark enough that i did not see the people at the end of the pier. lol The second photo 55mm S-1/8 A-f5.6 ISO-1600 no tripod no flash and on auto. The b&w i'm posting just cause i can't believe i can see the people and it's a long pier. Thanks everyone

I don't think much of the second, but the first shot is very nice! The only things I see wrong with it are technicalities (and maybe those people in the distance should be cropped out). The shot is beautiful, but a little bit grainy and soft. The lights also have an ugly glow effect. For a hand-held shot, this is stunning, but a tripod would definitely do wonders.
